Gallery 8 is the first private gallery in Bulgaria.
It was opened on June 18, 1988 at 6:00 p.m. at Br. Shkorpil 8 in Varna with an exhibition of painting, drawing, graphics and sculpture, presenting the work of authors from three generations of Bulgarian plastic art. Participants in the first exhibition are Stoyan Tsanev, Stoimen Stoilov, Vanko Urumov, Angel Stanev, Ivan Rusev, Ivan Slavov, Emil Popov, Alyosha Kafedjiyski, Ivan Kirkov, Dimitar Kirov, Georgi Bozhilov, Veselin Nachev, Svetlin Rusev, Maria Zafirkova and Milko Bozhkov.
Over the past years, the circle of authors of Gallery 8 has exceeded 340. Artists from Poland, Russia, the Netherlands, Japan and Ukraine also joined it. Since 1994, the Varna gallery has also exhibited art photography. Gallery 8 has visited with its collections in Vienna – Lehar Gallery, in Sofia – Art 36 Gallery and „Summer Salons of Private Galleries“, in Plovdiv – „First Fair of Private Galleries“, and participated in the Varna Festival of Plastic Arts „August in the art“.
